รู้จักกันมา 6-7 ปี เข้าใจว่าผมจะไม่เคยถาม สันติ ลอรัชวี เลยสักครั้ง..
ว่าทำไมเขาถึงตั้งชื่อบริษัทของเขาว่า ‘ภาคปฏิบัติ’ (Practical)
ชื่อบริษัทบอกบุคลิกนิสัยไปจนถึง ‘สิ่งที่อยู่ในใจ’ ของเจ้าของบริษัทได้--ผมเชื่อเช่นนั้น
อย่างบริษัทแรกในชีวิตที่ผมตั้ง มีชื่อว่า Day After Day ผมคิดว่ามันมีนัยยะของความโรแมนติกอยู่
(คุณลองพูดออกเสียงว่า “วันแล้ววันเล่า..วันแล้ววันเล่า” ซ้ำๆ ดูสิ มันฟังเหมือนนิทานดีนะ)
บริษัทที่สอง-ซึ่งเป็นบริษัทที่ผมทำอยู่ในปัจจุบัน ผมให้ชื่อมันว่า Day Poets ที่มาคือผมชอบหนังเรื่อง Dead Poets Society มาก
รู้สึกว่ามันเป็นหนังที่มีพลังและความฝัน สอดคล้องกับสิ่งที่ผมเชื่อและชอบ เลยเอามันมาดัดแปลงเป็นชื่อบริษัท (ทั้งๆ ที่ไม่ถูกหลักไวยากรณ์สักเท่าไหร่)

ผมรู้จักสันติในฐานะอาจารย์สอนศิลปะและออกแบบ ลูกศิษย์คนหนึ่งของเขาเป็นคนแนะนำให้รู้จัก พร้อมคำบอกเล่าคุณสมบัติแนบท้ายว่า
“อาจารย์ติ๊กเป็นอาจารย์ที่ทันสมัย วัยรุ่นดี แล้วก็เก่ง” ได้คุยกับเขาแล้วผมก็เห็นจริงตามนั้น
เราเคยร่วมงานกันหลายครั้ง ผมเคยเอาโปรเจกต์ลูกศิษย์เขามาพิมพ์เป็นหนังสือเล่มโดยให้เขาเป็นบรรณาธิการ
เขาเคยชวนผมไปเป็นประธานเปิดงานศิลปนิพนธ์ของนักศึกษา แล้วก็เป็นกรรมการตัดสินหนังสั้น ผมเคยให้ทีมของเขาออกแบบสมุดบันทึก
ให้สำนักพิมพ์ของผม เขาเคยสัมภาษณ์ผมลงแผ่นพับศิลปะของเขา ฯลฯ

ได้ร่วมงานและเห็นฝีมือกันแล้ว ผมคิดว่าผมชอบ ‘สไตล์’ ของสันติ (หรือจะพูดอีกอย่างว่าสไตล์สันติเป็นแบบที่ผมชอบก็ได้)
เท่าที่ติดตามมา ผลงานแต่ละอย่างของเขาจะไม่โชว์ออฟจนออกนอกหน้า ไม่มีรายละเอียดเยอะแยะยุ่บยั่บ แต่ออกไปในทาง เรียบ น้อย แล้วก็เท่
ขณะเดียวกันก็มีความพอดีและมีคอนเซปต์ชัดเจน เป็นลีลา Less Is More แบบที่ผมชอบ (อย่างงานชุด “Yes, I am not.” นี่ก็เข้าข่ายที่ว่า)
อีกอย่างที่ผมชอบคือ สันติไม่ใช่คนขี้คุย แต่เป็นนักลงมือทำ พูดง่ายๆ ว่า พูดน้อยแต่ต่อยหนัก เขาเป็นคนรู้เยอะ ทฤษฎีแน่น
แต่ให้ความสำคัญกับการลงมือสร้างสรรค์

มันออกมาจริงๆ มากกว่า ซึ่งผมก็ถูกใจคนอย่างนี้อีกนั่นแหละ เห็นด้วยกับผมไหมว่าโลกเรามีพวกดีแต่โม้มากเกินไปแล้ว?
ถึงตอนนี้ ผมคิดว่าผมพอจะเดาออกแล้วว่าทำไมสันติถึงตั้งชื่อบริษัทว่า ภาคปฏิบัติ
ในอนาคต..ถ้าสันติอยากจะเปิดบริษัทอีกสักบริษัท ผมขออนุญาตตั้งชื่อให้ว่า บริษัท ต่อยหนัก จำกัด

Foreword
I have known Santi Lawrachawee for 6 - 7 years,
but I’ve never asked him why he named his company ‘Practical.’
I do believe that the name of the company signifies the owner’s personality and ‘things in his mind.’
For instance, the first company I owned was named “Day After Day”. I think it implies a romantic aspect.
(Let’s pronounce the word, “day after day…. day after day” repeatedly, it sounds like a tale). The second
company where I currently work was named “Day Poets.” It was inspired by my favorite movie, Dead Poets Society,
which is perceived as being full of power and dreams, and consonant with what I believe and like. Therefore, it
was adapted to be my company’s name (even though it is grammatically incorrect.)
I have known Santi as an arts and design lecturer. One of his students introduced him to me with such a
remark that “Ajarn Tik is a modern, smart, and young at heart lecturer.” I do agree with that student after having
a talk with him. I worked with him several times. I published his student’s project in a book and asked him to be
an editor. He asked me to preside over his students’ art thesis exhibition and to be the judge for a short film
contest. I asked his team to design a notebook for my printing house. He also published my interview in his art
printed matter, etc.

Witnessing his ability and collaborating with him, I think I like Santi’s style. (In other words, Santi’s style
is the style I like.) Following his works, I found out they did not obviously show off and did not have so many
details, but they are simple, small and cool while at the same time moderate with a clear concept. His is the
“Less is More” style that I like. (“Yes, I am not” also represents such style). Another thing that I like is that Santi
is not a braggart but a practitioner. In other words, he is small talk but strong punch. He is knowledgeable with
a strong theoretical background, but he put more emphasis on practice. I admire the person possessing these
characteristics. Do you agree with me that there are too many braggarts in our world?

Finally, I would like to thank Santi for giving me an honor to write this foreword.
If, in the future, he decides to establish another company, please let me name it
“The Strong Punch Co.,Ltd.”.
